They are the latest in a slew of insidious actions undermining VOA\u2019s editorial independence, as reported by NPR. These actions violate the First Amendment as well as a statutory firewall intended to make the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/documents\/2020\/06\/15\/2020-12696\/firewall-and-highest-standards-of-professional-journalism\">U.S. Agency for Global Media impervious to political interference in order to maintain \u201cthe highest standards of professional journalism.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"\">We condemn any action taken that undermines the journalistic independence of VOA.
