Previously, she worked at Healthcasts, a media platform for doctors, running their\u00a0blog and editing all of their content. She was also working as a freelance journalist and has bylines in\u00a0Scientific American, The Guardian (Guardian Labs), The Daily Beast\u00a0and more. Julianne graduated from Rutgers University with a bachelors degree in journalism and media studies and a minor in Japanese. She currently serves as the AAJA New York chapter vice president. The stories revealed a pattern of alleged abuse of the homeless by security guards at a local sports arena, and led to the arrest of one of the suspects, and the firing of the security company. This year, Nicole and the Boston Globe&#8217;s Spotlight team were also chosen as finalists in the local reporting category in the Pulitzer Prizes. The seven-part series focused on racism and racial disparities within major institutions in the Boston region. Nicole, who serves as AAJA&#8217;s vice president of communications, has been at The Boston Globe since 2014, and joined the newspaper&#8217;s Spotlight team last year. Pat holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in political science with a focus on international relations, and hosts a weekly broadcast segment that seeks to decrease partisanship by highlighting the thought process behind contentious political topics. He has two semesters to complete before graduating, after which he hopes to report on domestic and international politics. Ben currently serves as the New York chapter&#8217;s social media chair and webmaster, the chair of the chapter&#8217;s Trivia Bowl and as the director of yung AAJA. Pamela is currently the Director of Communications and Media Relations for UC Davis Health. A longtime broadcast journalist, she is also a contributing host on Capital Public Radio, Sacramento\u2019s NPR member station. Previously, she was an anchor\/reporter at KCRA-TV (NBC). Pamela has served on AAJA\u2019s national advisory board and co-directs AAJA Media Institute, a program that trains diverse experts to become valuable sources to the media.
